Can I meet with an instructor/ advisor to review the courses I need to get admitted?

SSU Students Only: Pre-nursing advising is available every month on the second Friday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Students in the pre-nursing major can also make appointments for advising.

Non-SSU Students: We are not able to advise transfer students, but here are some resources that can help answer your questions:

  • Assist.org can help search for equivalent courses. Search to see if the course you took or want to take aligns with SSU Nursing requirements. On the website, use the middle column “Search for articulation agreements” to search. On the next page, you can search by "major" in the "filter major list" type "nursing" and those courses that will transfer will show up with SSU nursing requirements.
  • If you are trying to transfer from a local community college. Your school does have nursing-specific college advisors/counselors to assist with your transfer. Your school also has a "Transfer Center" with advisors that can help students looking to transfer to a four-year college. These could be combined based on your school, but reach out and ask for assistance.
  • If your question is not answered through either of these resources, another option is to contact one of our Admissions Specialists for Transfer students. On this link you will find a transfer specialist that can help you based on your last name.
  • Please also be sure to check our SSU Nursing website. There are vast amounts of resources to help with our decision to apply, including program application requirements, previously recorded pre-licensure information sessions, nursing curriculum and a full page of FAQs.
