Verification for NP Licensure and Certifications

Demand for verification of education and pharmacology has increased dramatically, mostly due to the expansion of Nurse Practitioners in telehealth. Historically, these verifications have been done as a courtesy for students and alumni, but the volume of requests has outpaced current staffing situations. In response to this, the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Sonoma State University has implemented a fee schedule for verification.

Effective as of July 2024: For current students in the California-based SSU NP program, verification of education for the NP license and verification of pharmacology for the NP Furnishing license, and the verification for the national certification will be at no charge at graduation and for the first 6 months following graduation. Beyond that 6-month timeframe, graduates will be subject to the same verification costs as all other alumni. Current students are also eligible for one (1) additional state license verification without charge within 6 months of graduation; beyond that, the verification fees apply.

For a standard request for verification, a charge of $50 will be collected for EACH verification required. The turnaround time for a standard verification is 30 days.

For an expedited request for verification, a charge of $75 will be collected for EACH verification, with a turnaround time of 15 business days.

For a rush verification request, a charge of $100 will be collected for EACH verification, with a turnaround time of 7 business days.

Course Syllabi

Course syllabi change every time a course is taught, and it is recommended that students keep an electronic copy of their course syllabi for future use, reference, and verification. In the event that a former student needs Sonoma State University to retrieve syllabi from the archives, a charge of $50 per syllabus will be required. It should be noted that the more remote the date of the course, the less likely it is that the syllabus will be on file. In the event that the syllabus does not exist, a refund will be provided.
