To meet requirements for any SSU baccalaureate degree a student must complete two courses in American Institutions: (1) an approved American/U.S. History course AND (2) an approved U.S. Constitution/CA State & Local Government course. Students must complete both at COM prior to transfer to SSU. Units count toward BSN in SSU GE Area D.

SSU Graduation requirements also include: (1) one Ethnic Studies course, which may be met by completing an articulated Ethnic Studies course at SCC (consult your community college counselor or CNECM advisor for course options) or by choosing one of your required UDGE courses to meet this requirement and (2) passing the Written English Proficiency Test (WEPT). NURS 312 (first summer course) is a ‘Writing Intensive Course” and satisfies the WEPT requirement. Students are STRONGLY encouraged to complete their Ethnic Studies course prior to transferring to SSU.
