Biography
I have lived in three countries and speak three languages. Prior to becoming a nurse and nurse practitioner, I was an English teacher in Japan, where I also competed in karate, kickboxing, and basketball. Most of my RN/FNP work has been in medical-surgical and primary care. I started my career as a FNP in a federally qualified health center and eventually moved into college health. I am a past program director of SSU's FNP Program and have also taught in SJSU's DNP Program. I now focus on teaching in the FNP Program, researching how technology can support healthcare and education, and spending time with my two boys and my sweet rescue dogs.
