Biography

Dr. Werder has practiced in nursing for over 45 years. She has a particular passion for mental health nursing and is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and holds her doctorate in psychology. She has worked in the public health sector for a majority of her career and is a fierce advocate against stigmatization of those with mental health issues and substance use issues. Dr. Werder anticipates creating and launching a post-masters psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certificate program at Sonoma State University in the next two years.
